Byzantine Water Reservoir

Just on the corner of the road leading to Feres and over the ancient river of Samias, one can see the Byzantine reservoir that brought water from a distant spring to the settlement of the Monastery.

The magnitude of the two arches, which are 5 meters high, 7 meters apart and 1,3 meters wide, is impressive. The reservoir was built 800 years ago with flint and bricks and it was personally supervised by Isaakios Komninos himself.
